Tiong Aun - 1st Oct 2016
Tiong Aun joined us in mid 2011 after close to 20 years working in Singapore. Coming from Johor, Aun’s first job after graduation was in 1994. The decision to relocate from Malaysia to Singapore was a simple one as he had many friends already working in Singapore.
Fast forward to 2011, and he has been with Huber’s for more than 5 years. In fact, he received his long service award several months ago at our annual company dinner where he stood on chairs and sang to his heart’s content!
Aun is our Warehouse Assistant in the factory at Pandan Loop and his work involves receiving goods, handling the movement of goods, and ensuring that the warehouse is organised. He also has to spend part of his work day in 0°C chillers and -18°C freezers. You should also see how much shipments we receive in a day!
A typical day for Aun starts at 7am and ends at 4pm Monday to Friday. On Saturday, he gets to leave at 11am. He lives in Johor with his wife and three kids and therefore spends at least an hour commuting on his motor bike to and from work every working day.
Children in public schools in Johor go to school Sunday to Thursday. It is a shame as Sunday seems to be the only day Aun gets to spend time with the kids.
