Vacherin Mont-d'Or AOP
Seasonal cheese made with unpasteurised cow's milk. Soft, rich, smooth, with a delicate scent of wood. Best served as is or oven-baked.
To serve as is
- Do not remove from the box,
- Serve at room temperature,
- Scoop cheese with a spoon
- Serve with bread, crackers, fruits or fruit paste
To serve oven-baked
- Do not remove from the box,
- Keep cheese at room temperature for about an hour before baking,
- Add desired stuffing to the centre of the cheese,
- Bake for 20 to 30 minutes in an oven pre-heated to 200°C,
- Serve with bread or boiled Kipfler potatoes.
- Suitable stuffings include (i) sautéedbacon with onions (must be pre-cooked), (ii) Huber's cooked ham, diced (iii) chorizo or pepperoni, diced
