Mark, our lively butcher supervisor based in our factory came
from Oriental Mindoro, a tiny island in the Philippines. Before he set foot in
Singapore, Mark was working in the I.T industry in Saudi Arabia for three
years. Unfortunately, he did not like the lifestyle there as there were too
many rules and the most important thing is... It was hard for
him to talk or make friends with any women. Surprisingly, he met his wife, then
girlfriend, there in Saudi Arabia!
Mark arrived in Singapore on August 2012, and worked with as a butcher in Cold Storage. He was not happy while
working there due to the long hours. One year later, Mark got a call from our
HR, Gina, and he joined the Huber’s family in 2013. This year at the 10th
Annual Dinner and Dance, Mark received his 5th Year Service Award. Suave,
jovial and always full of energy, these are the perfect words to describe Mark.
He always managed to exude his happiness onto everyone around him and uplift
the mood of the workplace.
Mark enjoys his time working in Huber’s as he said every
colleague are like a family member to him. The workplace is always alive with
laughters, everyone is really helpful and the most important thing is he has
work-life balance here. Mark really treasures his off time with his family.
Mark and his nurse wife are both in Singapore while his one-year-old daughter
is still in the Philippines. Every three months, his wife will bring their
daughter over to Singapore as Mark really misses his daughter.

During his free time, Mark likes to play RPG games on his
phone and his favourite one is Lineage. But that’s not all about him, Mark can
really dance! He used to learn folk dance and ballroom dance when he was
younger. He did give all of us a good ‘wow’ at this year’s Dinner and Dance
with his freestyle moves. Besides that, Mark will train with his basketball
buddies every Wednesday and Friday night. He really loves basketball and
sometimes they will take part in tournaments as well.
Mark’s dream is to able to touch and feel real snow and to
visit the Amazon in South America where he can fish. He loves freshwater fish
and hope that one day he will be able to capture the largest freshwater fish,
Arapaima. Currently, he has three big Arowanas at home.
