The following points should be considered when purchasing cuts of beef:
For roasts without bone, we recommend 250 to 280 grams per person
For steaks, 200grams for a small eater, 250grams for a medium eater and 300grams for a big eater
For stewing and braising, about 250 grams per person
Beef cuts with some bone yield up to 3-4 servings per kg
Bony cuts yield no more than 2-3 servings per kg
1kg of minced beef produces about 6-8 cooked servings
When planning a meal, it is always best to purchase too much beef than not enough. Always be prepared for people with larger appetites. If there are leftovers, cooked beef will keep in the refrigerator for several days or the unused portions may be frozen for long term storage. Our butchers will be happy to recommend the right quantity for your requirements.
