EagleWings Loft - 1st Nov 2018
The MacDonald's at King Albert Park was one of the first few places we went to when my husband was courting me. Though he refuses to admit, I shall now put it in print that he was the one who made the first move. We were sad when the MacDonald's had to make way a couple of years ago for a new development. In its place now is KAP Residences, a mixed development comprising residential units and businesses. Occupying a prominent lot is EagleWings Loft.
Lobster Bisque
After settling in, we quickly placed an order for Lobster Bisque, Chicken Satay, Chicken Diavola, Carbonara, and a Bacon and Egg Wagyu Burger. The Lobster Bisque is good for die-hard seafood lovers who would enjoy a heavy seafood flavour. Since my husband, Colin, takes only selected seafood, I was only too happy to have the entire serving of the Lobster Bisque to myself. A while later, 6 sticks of chicken satay came served with cut cucumber, onions and satay sauce, just like how it's served at a local market. They were delicious and the satay sauce tasted like how it was when I was growing up.
Chicken Satay
Carbonara
The Chicken Diavola is actually popcorn chicken served with Thai chilli sauce. This made a good snack while waiting for the main course to be served. Then the Carbonara arrived. Put together with cream sauce and smoky bacon, this was Colin's second favourite that evening. We liked the consistency of the creamy sauce and will be back for more! The Wagyu Burger was served
well-done and despite so, it was tasty and the sweetness from the wagyu burger patty shone. We struggled to settle in with a grumpy baby that evening and in our haste, we had also forgotten to ask the wait staff if we could have the burger served medium. We bet it would have tasted better if cooked to medium.
Wagyu Burger
The evening ended well when we had our gelato. The adults had three scoops - Gula Melaka, Salted Caramel, and Rum & Raisin.
